The Institute

The Institute of International Legal Studies is a scientific and technical research centre whose main objective is the dissemination of Law-related knowledge, practice and research within a framework of European and international action. In addition, it is dedicated to facilitating exchange between professors and students from different countries in order to favor collaboration in the area of Comparative Law, mainly at the European level.

Created in Madrid in 2005 under the auspices of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, the Institute is headed up by Legal History Professor Dr. Bruno Aguilera Barchet, and its Board is composed of prestigious professors and legal scholars from various Spanish and foreign universities.

It carries out its activities in collaboration with the Alliance Française in Spain, the Université Paris-Est Créteil (Paris XII), the Université de Nantes, the University of New Mexico, in the United States, and other university institutions in Asia and America.
